Chicago Heights Police K9 Will Get Bulletproof Vest

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL – Cap, the Chicago Heights Police Department’s K9 officer, will receive a bulletproof vest after he was selected as one of the 2018 recipients of a “Healthcare for K9 Heroes” grant from Vested Interest in K9s, a non-profit that provides bullet and stab protective vests to dogs in law enforcement throughout the United States.

In addition to K9 Cap, the other initial recipients of the grant are Martin County Sheriff’s Office, KY, K9 Grim, Great Barrington Police Department, MA, K9 Titan, Chester Police Department, VT, K9 Dutch, City of Wilmington Police Department, IL, K9 Mao, Corson County Sheriff’s Office, SD, K9 Taz, Osage County Sheriff’s Office, OK, K9 Roy, Cheybogan County Sheriff’s Office, MI, K9 Havok, and Sauk Village Police Department, IN, K9 Falko.
