A police K9 in Connecticut is showing off his new protective vest.
Tate from the Wallingford Police Department received a bullet and stab protective vest from the nonprofit Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The vest was sponsored through an anonymous sponsor. Each vest costs about $950.
The vest was embroidered with the saying “honoring those who served and sacrificed.”
The Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., which is based in East Taunton, MA. and started in 2009, helps dogs working with law enforcement and other related agencies get these vests. The nonprofit has provided more than 2,600 protective vests in 50 states, through private and corporate donations, at a cost of over 2.1 million dollars.
